Is what he's saying.
Don't worry people, this one will be back to wow before long. |

Edit: That said, the value of flexibility is not to be underestimated. I'm not going to waste 1000ISK a shot on a ship that will die almost instantly considering that normal rockets are only 10. Yepp... He must be trolling... i kinda agree more and more on this... you should switch game =) I only have 50m ISK and I'm trying to build up my reserves. a fully equibmed pvp frigate is going to cost about 1m, 1000 faction rockets (my standard ammount I carry) is going to cost about 10m. Its stupid that I'm going to wast 10m on a fight I'm probadly going to lose anyway. Yet 12% extra damage is good but not worth that kind of price for me. I keep giving up on pvp because I keep getting beat so hard. Yet I keep coming back hoping I'll be better at it and then I get hit and then I die over and over. I get angery and go on here and just get beaten down by people like you and then I go back to mining and missioning. Atleast they are rewarding. Tsukino Stareine wrote:

That would actaully be a good thing, removed the physical superiority of tech 2 weapons and ammo. keep the specialisation skills. That would atleast be kind of fair about things. then its more about personal and character skill instead of purely better numbers.
If you want that go play CS:GO, mmorpgs have skill progressions for a REASON: they give you results for time invested. This game is designed in a way that older players have an advantage over newer players BUT (this is a HUGE butt, hi nicki minaj) the older player can only be better than the newer player in a specific ship.....................
UNTIL THE NEWER PLAYER GETS THE SAME SKILLS IN THAT PARTICULAR SHIP.
So HTFU, train t2 weapons (cmon 5 days for small weapons, stop being such a ***** about it) and live up to the fact you won't beat an experienced player in 1vs1 for a LONG ******* TIME, because not only do they have an SP advantage over you, they have an "I've done this thousands of times, whipper-snapper" advantage over you. |

I don't wonder why there's only 500,000 subscribers. I know exactly why EVE has that many: because this is a niche mmo that appeals to a particular area of the mmorpg market. It's not a theme-park, instant gratification monstrosity that appeals to the ages of 11-15. Nobody wants that here and CCP don't want it either and it's working for them since this game has grown EVERY YEAR since it's launch unlike 99% of other games.
The point of pvp is that you learn from it, so you can eventually be better than the people that beat you today. I know that you might think this is impossible because you're extremely narrow-minded and immature but it does happen.
Other games have skill brackets because they have tournament systems (lets take wow arena for example). There is no such pre-determined game mechanic here as this is a sandbox game (this means much of the game is created by the players themselves).
Yes you're right this isn't wow and a 200m sp vet can go and suicide gank 500k sp noobs fresh out of tutorials. How often does this happen? Almost never because there are CONSEQUENCES.
You went LOOKING for pvp, unprepared and unwilling to train and fit your ships so they are on par with the people you are fighting. What on earth did you ******* expect? |

This game, however, is different. It takes time to be good. It takes time to train your skills. And I promise you one thing dude, even if you had Tech 2 weapons on your ship, you would still lose. Because it takes time to learn tactics and how to fly and fight. Two ships with the same gear are not equal if one pilot knows how to play and the other doesn't.
how is it different? I'm grinding time for SP and ISK which allows me to buy and equib gear and ships made by other people but there are only so many ships so yeah on a mechanices level its still pretty much WOW. Enochx Kaine wrote: Trust me dude. I just started FW and pvp last week. I came into FW space and found a good corp. I came in with a few ships, and about 90 mill in isk. A week later my record is 0-10. I am down to 2 mill isk. I suck. Horribly. But it isn't because I don't have tech 2 stuff.....some thiings I actually DO have tech 2 stuff. I lose because I haven't figured out how to properly fight yet. There are tactics and strategies you have to learn. It isn't just mindless button mashing.
if that what pvp is like then I'm not doing it. I'm not willing to risk my hard earned ISK on nothing but dead ships and blown up pods. That isn't fun. when I log off I want to see my wallet with a large value that when I logged on or atleast a new ship in my hanger. Sorry but that is the way I work. And your right this is the first mmo (I've never eactually played WOW) that has really grabbed me into signing up. The only 1 that I really stuck at was STOR as f2p for about 2 months and I sucked at pvp there too. But atleast there it felt like player skill was partly the reason (damn action keys users) but here its feels like the very mechanics are disadvantaging me. And yes I do like to blame everything else but me, its how I keep going in life.
Let me put this in a way you will hopefully understand:
EVE pvp and WoW pvp are essentially THE SAME.
You get your arena gear in WoW, nobody can get any better gear because that is the top level gear.
You get your tech 2 modules and train up your skills, nobody can train more skills or get any better modules because that is the limit.
Now what separates people when they reach this level? Their personal skill and experience.
Two guys with all t2 mods and all relevant skills at 5 who will win? Obviously the one that flies better.
So this is the same pvp concept as every other game, your level of pvp is like going into arena with quest greens, how do you think that will turn out? Sure sometimes you can outplay someone in full arena epics with green gear but that's exactly the same in eve. A condor with a TD and meta 0 modules as long as he can keep range on a blaster ship will eventually kill it.
Also pvp in this game VERY RARELY is profitable. If you came into EVE pvp expecting to make money then hoooo boy you got another thing coming. FW can make you money but you usually have to do this IN A FLEET, don't expect to take any plexes solo if you're a noob with meta 0 modules and low sp.
Make some friends, start playing this game how it's supposed to be played. All those "solo" pvpers have perfect skills combined with extremely expensive implants with possible booster alts, EVE is not designed to work well as a solo player but it CAN be done (with excessive effort as previously described).
Also I know this hasn't got much to do with anything but your attitude is horrible: blaming everyone else but yourself is a sure fire path to failure, not just in games but in life. |

Then stop pvping by yourself, hundreds of ships in a battle FUNNILY ENOUGH involves more than 1 person. |

Then it looks like you have 2 options:
1. Leave your corp, why you would stay with people who have no interest in what you enjoy doing is beyond me.
2. Start making a plan on how to generate enough ISK to fund a second account and put pvp on the back burner for a while.
3. Buy plex with real money (most likely not an option since you wouldn't be making all these annoying posts if you could afford plex) |
